No! The state of Michigan no longer requires a prescription for physical therapy from a physician.
Your prescription is valid for up to 30 days from date of issue. This means you must begin treatment within 30 days from the date on your prescription.
We do accept most insurances. When you call to schedule your appointment, our front office coordinator will verify your insurance to determine your coverage. The following includes, but is not limited to, the common insurances we do accept:
- Auto Insurance
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Commercial Insurances
- Priority Health
- Self Pay
- United Health Care
- Worker’s Compensation
- Blue Care Network
-We do not accept HAP insurances.
Your costs will depend upon your insurance policy’s deductible and co pays. We encourage you to call and verify your insurance coverage to avoid any possible discrepancies
In most cases we will have you scheduled for your initial evaluation in less than 5 days of your call.
You will need to come with your signed written prescription from your physician, your driver’s license, and your insurance card(s).
Also, wear something loose and comfortable which will allow us easy access to your involved body part. Changing rooms or areas are available for your convenience.
The duration of each of your appointments depends upon your diagnosis, as well as the treatment recommendation of your physician and therapist. Typically you can expect to be in therapy for 45mins to 1 hour per visit.
Your diagnosis and the number of visits recommended by your physician and therapist will determine this. In addition, your attendance and your rate of progression during therapy will also be a key factor. Treatment can typically range from 4 to 6 weeks or even up to 3 to 4 months.
Our front office coordinators handle the majority of all billing questions. 586-416-4281
